The University of Manchester can trace its roots back to 1824 and has grown to become one of the largest single-site universities in the UK, with just less than 46,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students from 170 countries. 93% of their research was ranked as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent' by the Research Excellence Framework in 2021 with 25 Nobel Prize winners having worked or studied here.
In the High Flyers Research for 2023 the University of Manchester was still most targeted university for by the UK’s leading graduate employers and they are ranked 32nd in the world, sixth in Europe and sixth in the UK in the 2024 QS World University Rankings.
