AI courses produced by the University of Exeter
Educators' course: The course was designed to meet priorities/information gaps highlighted by teachers. It covers: AI fundamentals and professional judgement; how students are using AI; over-reliance and learning; teaching critical thinking; AI and coursework and authorship; responding to misuse; ethical implications; and AI careers and future pathways. The course, which focuses on the responsible and critical use of AI, includes downloadable classroom-ready resources throughout. It is most suitable for educators teaching Year 12 onwards, but will also be of use for those supporting younger age groups.
Students course: The course was co-created by current UoE students and covers: what generative AI is and how it works; responsible and appropriate use; prompt engineering; over-reliance and independent thinking; AI in careers and future pathways; and editing and evaluating AI outputs. It has been designed for Year 12/13s, but content is also suitable for younger age groups.
